Dubai is … weird. Oil is cheaper than water, they abandoned all taxes and they break their own records. Ridiculous really! Going to Dubai with Ethiad was even more ridiculous.
They censor their movies. Censor as in; the scene from X-men Wolverine where wolverine jumps from the driving jeep onto the helicopter and then fights with the helicopter!!!
Yeah, never happened in Arabia. In Arabia, Wolverine FLIES towards the helicopter, and in the next moment he gets up from under the debris. Very lame! Or that awesome scene in Terminator, where the “human/terminator guy” discovers he’s actually a robot, John Conner telling him”You think you’re human”, and then cuts the guys chains so he can see inside his body the mechanics!!! Yeah, in Arabia, you don’t see that. You just see him shouting NOOOOOOOOOOOO like a retard. Other than that Ethiad served good food and we had nice comfy chairs! Thank Jebus there were some series to see on the in flight entertainment too!
Anyway, Dubai. It’s impressive to see, what they do is beyond imagination but the hippie inside me can only see the waste. They need 3500 barrels of oil A DAY to keep their indoor skying building going. Snow in the desert, ridiculous. 80% of the population of Dubai is foreign, so when a native person from Dubai marries another native person, they get a house for free from the government. And when they get their first child they get about 70.000 Dirham from the government (6000EUR).
Their moto also seems to be “MORE MORE MORE”. They built the only 7star hotel in the world, the Burj Al Arab, which can fit the late twin towers inside the atrium without a problem. You can also order the most expensive cocktail in the world there, made with 20 year old schotch and served in a glass of gold (which you can keep). I personally didn’t like the cocktail.
They also have gardens which need millions of liters of water each day, they have the biggest five star hotel in the world and are building an even bigger one, and a car is generally 20% cheaper than anywhere else in the world because they don’t have taxes. Look on the internet for other fun facts like these!
Aaaah Dubai, glad I saw it, never again, and I hope the oil runs out.
